New Playlist- Nostalgia & a Walt Whitman moment or three ;)

Another delve into the tortured psyche of a product of the 80's. I started out trying to find songs that I listened to on the local college station when it had a new wave program. That lasted about a song (Away by Bolshoi) before ADD kicked in and I was trying to remember videos that I watched on MTV at my grandma's house. (All of this can be blamed on the one song by Squeeze Mary had on her playlist.

My car may have died. This is putting a serious crimp in my D & D playing! ( I know, "priority check, aisle five".) I missed a game Friday night and I might not get to go on the midwinter "fishing" trip. Aggghhh! Updates to come.

I have done little to nothing to prepare for my black belt test. I am not sure if I am trying to give myself a cardiac issue on the day of or just sabotage it entirely. :P

My wife and I both gave talks today in church on "lengthening our stride." We both received many kudos and I know we both felt good about it. She got weepy once and me twice. (For my part, once while relating the story of coolness of little Jonni Sever with her in the second row and so many Severs or relations around a blind man could hit 'em with a rock!)

That's about it for the moment.

Oh and I am seriously pissed about the stimulus package. That is so going to bankrupt into the stone age! I am actually more miffed that our legislatures are going along with it, the Republicans more than the Democrats, but both all in all.

That's really it.

One more thing, I surprised someone at work on Thursday by my reaction to something. Bill Gates now is out to philanthropically take on disease. That's no excuse for hubris rich dude! He is at a conference, mentions mosquitoes carry malaria, pulls out a jar of mosquitoes, says"Not only poor people should experience this," Gates said and OPENS IT!!! After the scare set in, he mentioned they were "malaria-free." I said that I would have punched him. That surprised my coworker since I am usually laid back. I usually am, but that hit a button viscerally (like that one?) on so many levels.

That's really, really it. I know that you are dying to read this. :)

trust me, do some stuff to not make it a kardio(or kardiac)issue. i was sore for days. and rich people completly lose touch with what it is like to be a normal person.

Well, I think that post just about covered everything! I am way glad that I inspired a new playlist for you. I am disgustingly proud of my playlist anyway, and this is good for my fragile ego. I love 80s music, but have the misfortune to have been born in the early 80s, and so didn't get to experience the majority of the really good stuff first hand, so you probably know lots of great songs I missed out on.

Sorry about your car and your gaming loss. :(

The "stimulus" bill is really irritating. I'm mad about it. The 'Pubs that are going to vote for it are RINOs, and it will be up to their constituency to kick them to the curb, but we'll see if that happens.

Your reaction to Bill Gates made me laugh! I hadn't heard that story. The guy is a genius in some ways, and a moron in so many more. I am amazed that he was able to totally eliminate mosquitos at his own home. On the other hand, have you seen his pasty whiteness? I doubt he's ever actually spent any real amount of time outside at his house. I imagine he's in his office playing games on his new Apple iMac all day every day (no one likes PCs, not even Gates). I think it would be awesome to see you punch Bill Gates. But you'd have to punch out all of his body guards first. That's why he gets away with the crap he does. Of course, I do have a great mental picture of you just walking up to the guy and punching him square in the nose! I think that image will inhabit my dreams for a few nights.

Ooh, new developments. I just heard on the radio that the three RINOs that are voting for this atrocity are getting so many calls that their voice mail boxes are full, and switchboards are clogged. This may not go as well as the Dems thought.

Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter should just be tossed out. This is just the worst example so far of "we the people" being completely ignore and fear mongered. Conservatives just need to run adds highlighting all the PORK in this bill.

I read the headline that the bill had passed a crucial point. Crucial point meant NO DEBATE!!! What crap!

Remember Mary the punch should have great form and focus. My hand will actually pass through his head w/o any gore!

Yeah, I know Bruce. I am just having weeks (as opposed to "a week" or "a day.")

I think that I am going to do this on Glenn Beck web site. I like his walk and I just need to do something.

Oh I got a second hand version of your talks from my mom. She gave it postive reviews.

I hope that your mom left out the part about the blubbering man at the podium talking about your darling daughter's charitable UBER-act. (I mean left out the blubbering, not the UBER-act.)

20ish minutes of cardio today, plus stretching and a horse stance.

He also has the new "We Surround Them" thing where if you agree with his 9 ideas about the USA, then you send you picture in to him at wesurroundthem@ I can't remember, I'm sure it's on his site.com. I've been meaning to send one in. I just don't have any good ones.

Oh, that's what that link was! ::blush:: Anyway, John, copy and paste the URL.

He let them go! Then made some lame statement like "they're malaria free". What's going on in that head of his?!
