I finally found something that I wanted to post about -after like 5 months- a few days ago, but the web site did not have embed code. Now it is posted on youtube w/better code.
This is an excellent example of Kajukenbo.

Thx E! Thank was interesting.
I've been wondering how is Kajukenbo different from what we ingnorant Westerners consider karate?
Btw, the train of thought post was brilliant. I actually followed all of your links. Isn't it amazing how our mind wanders? It's awesome that you could reconstruct that train of though. :)
Karate is a generic term for striking type martial arts from Okinawa and Japan. It has many styles like kind of like there are many kinds of Christians. (Sometimes Korean TaeKwonDo gets lumped in there also as it has origins in Karate.)
Kajukenbo contains Karate (KA),Judo, Jujitsu (JU) Kenpo (Ken) and American and Chinese Boxing (BO). Kenpo is Chinese martial arts "filtered" through Japan and Hawaii. Chinese boxing is another term for Kung Fu. (Check some of the hyperlinks on my earlier post on Svelte for more info.)
Glad you liked the train of thought!
Glad your back and posting also!
Thanks for getting back to me about this. Very interesting. My brother studied a Japanese martial arts for a couple of years and also got a black belt in TaeKwonDo. He competed quite a bit all the way through high school. I couldn't tell a lot of difference between the two but he swore there was. :)
Yeah the train of thought rocked!
I'm happy that you enjoy my blog. It's good to know that I have friends all over the place. Feel free to comment any time. I'll try not to have to much girly stuff. lol!
